The Sugar Bag Research Film

The Sugar Bag research film is a research methodology from the Traditional Knowledge Revival Pathways program to apply traditional knowledge to support research and education projects for community and environmental well being.

This film is a part of developing research to support traditional burning practices as a way to preserve and protect the native bee species living in Northern Australia. These types of films are proving very effective for incorporating traditional knowledge into contemporary land management and combines knowledge systems to create a better understanding in developing management solutions for the environment.

These films are also used in training rangers, education materials, and to present as a review to funding bodies or government agencies. These films are designed to capture training and research modules delivered by the TKRP program and are a great way for community workers and rangers to reflect on their training outcomes and community aspirations.

At Mulong, not only do we skillfully make the films for you, but we also assist you with undertaking the research projects and developing the best strategy for you practically, through our traditional knowledge methodologies and our networks of communities and partnerships.
